About Oak & Razor

One chair, one mirror and a lot of patience.

We opened in 2012 with a single chair, a second-hand mirror and a stubborn belief that a good haircut deserves time. Twelve years later the chairs are leather and there are four of them, but nobody here rushes a cut.

Our story

Built on regulars, not on trends

Reza started cutting hair for friends in his family's kitchen, trained under an old-school Italian barber and opened Oak & Razor on a quiet corner with savings and a loan. The first clients came for the hot towel shave and stayed for the conversation. Today most of our appointments are regulars, many of them bringing their sons, and the rule is the same as on day one: listen first, cut second.

  • Every barber completed a two-year apprenticeship in the shop
  • Tools sterilised after every client, blades changed every shave
  • Independent, family-run and on the same corner since 2012

House rules

Six promises that every barber in the shop keeps.

  1. I

    Listen first

Every cut starts with a consultation. We ask how you wear it, how often you style it and what you want to change before we pick up a tool.

  2. II

    Never rush a chair

Appointments are long enough to do the job properly. If your cut needs ten more minutes, it gets them.

  3. III

    Clean like a clinic

Combs and guards are disinfected after every client, capes are fresh and every shave uses a new blade.

  4. IV

    Honest advice

If a style will not suit your hair or your mornings, we will say so and suggest something that will.

  5. V

    Everyone's welcome

Straight hair, curly hair, coily hair, no hair. Kids, grandfathers and everyone in between get the same care.

  6. VI

    Craft over speed

We train every barber for two years in scissor work, fades and the straight razor before they take a client alone.

Twelve years on the corner

A few moments that shaped the shop.

  1. 2012

    One chair

Reza opens the shop with one chair, a borrowed mirror and a kettle for the hot towels.

  2. 2014

    The shave parlour

A second chair and a dedicated straight razor shave service. The waiting list starts.

  3. 2016

    The apprenticeship

Omid becomes our first apprentice and the two-year training programme is born.

  4. 2019

    Four chairs

We take over the shop next door, restore four vintage chairs and add the grooming shelf.

  5. 2022

    Our own products

After years of mixing in the back room, our clay, paste and beard oil go on sale.

  6. 2025

    Online booking

Every barber's calendar goes online so clients can pick a chair in under a minute.

Word from the chair

Omid has cut my hair every three weeks for nine years. Same perfect fade every single time, and he remembers everything I told him last visit.
